Police get some clue to murder of Spaniard

By Zahiruddin

CHITRAL, Aug 7: The police has got some clue in the murder case of the Spanish who had been killed at his residence on the night of Friday last.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saeed Khan told the newsmen here on Wednesday that a number of items of daily use of Jody, the slain Spanish, have been recovered from the house of an Afghan national in the neighbourhood, Mohammad Din, which included personal computer, camera and telescope. The recovery has confirmed the involvement of Asif, the servant of Jody, in the murder who is close relative of Mohammad Din.

He said that the wife and daughter of Mohammad Din have been taken into custody to get further information from them. He hoped that the absconders will be nabbed shortly as the elders of the Nooristan area of Afghanistan have assured him of their full cooperation in this regard.

Responding to a query, he confirmed that a month ago the home department had directed the local police to expel the Spanish from the district and explaining his failure to comply with the order, he said that he (Jody) was not present in the district by that time.

When he returned on July 27, the station house officer of Ayun did not inform me, he further explained and added that the officer has been suspended.
