Kuwait to induct women into police

By Khalid Amin

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait, in an unprecedented move, would soon induct women into its police force in-order to give them equal opportunity in all professional fields.

This was announced by Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major General Abdulla Al Fares during the graduation ceremony of new police cadets at Saad Al Abdulla Police Academy.

“We will soon begin to accept women in the police force”, he said, adding some special courses had been designed by the academy to provide women cadets an opportunity to join the force.

Abdulla said women would be given special training before they joined the police force. He said the induction of women into police force would help in improving the social services.
