Rs565m recovered from defaulters of govt depts

FAISALABAD, Aug 6: At least 565 million were recovered from defaulters of land revenue, agricultural income tax and other government departments in the Faisalabad district during the last fiscal year.

This was disclosed during a meeting of district revenue officers with EDO (revenue) Mian Kamaluddin. The meeting was also attended by DDOs of Jaranwala, Samundri, Saddar, Tandlianwala and city sub-divisions.

Giving details, DDO (revenue) Dr Irshad said that against a demand of Rs102.8 million under the agriculture income tax head, an amount of Rs95.9 million was recovered, achieving 93 per cent recovery target. As many as Rs172 million had been recovered under the water rate head, he said.

Similarly, a sum of Rs182.4 million was recovered from defaulters of ADBP, Rs30.3 million from defaulters of Cooperative Bank and Rs103.7 million from defaulters of other government departments, he said.

The recovered amount also includes Rs4.1 million of water management, Rs0.8 million of Baitul Maal, Rs3.8 million of mutation fee and Rs2.5 million of stamp duty.
