Karachi deserves five teams

KARACHI, Aug 5: Town Nazims of the City urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to increase the number of Karachi teams to at least five in proportion with the cricket population of this metropolis.

They were of the view that Karachi has already contributed immensely for the promotion and growth of cricket in Pakistan and has abundance of talent.

They said its population, which has now surged over 15 million mark, has a passion for cricket and it is sheer injustice that Karachi is restricted to field only two teams in the Quaid Trophy and three teams in the junior tournaments.—APP
