ISLAMABAD, Aug 5: The Pakistan Muslim League (N), led by Shahbaz Sharif, will participate in the forthcoming general elections fully prepared.
This was stated by former minister and leader of PML(N) Jaffar Iqbal while talking to newsmen here at the Elec-tion Commission of Pakistan office after depositing the manifesto and constitution of the party.
He said the list of the newly elected party office-bearers will be submitted before the Election Commission before Aug 10 to fulfil the new condition.
The PML(N) wants to participate in the election which is why it is fulfilling the legal requirements of the Election Commission, he said.
Replying to a question about the return of Shabaz Sharif to Pakistan, he said, Shahbaz will come back definitely before the elections “as there is no reason to stop him from coming.”
He emphasised the need for creating an atmosphere conducive to the conduct of free, fair and independent polls.
Jafar Iqbal stated that PML(N) will not accept misuse of the government machinery to provide favour to one party or group in the forthcoming general elections.
Ahsan Iqbal, another leader of PML(N), said neutral actions by the government could create an atmosphere favourable for holding fair, free and impartial elections.
He said political stability will bring economic stability to the country after the elections.
He claimed that the PML(N) “is the biggest political force” in the country and no one could eliminate it from the scene by hatching conspiracies. —APP
