Indian bid to set up new post foiled

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: The Pakistan army successfully foiled an attempt by the Indian troops to establish a new post along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Neelum Valley sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian bid was in violation of the established ground rules, said an ISPR press release here Friday.

Heavy exchange of artillery fire has been going on in the sector, where sometimes back the Indians attempted to establish a new post.

Having failed in their efforts, the Indians made another attempt to re-establish the post, which has also been successfully thwarted. In the process, considerable casualties were inflicted on the enemy.

“Failed Indian efforts to dominate us continued during the day, while Pakistan armed forces remained on their determined vigilance,” it added. —APP
