KARACHI, July 31: Three ships including Ibn Bassam carrying pulses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, APL Jeddah, Global Prosperity, Kota Wangi and MOL Sincerity to unload and load containers and Bow Marino to offload chemicals were berthed after the sailing of two.

The ships, which departed included Liang Shan and Fair Mare, while Trade Eternity, Bow Marion, Global Prosperity, Mar Challenger, APL Jeddah and Kota Wangi are due to sail out on Thursday.

Berth occupancy at the dry wharves rose to 58 per cent, while on the oil piers fell to 33 per cent because of slow arrivals.

Cargo handling was modest at 47,505 tons comprising 16,223 ton of export cargo including 2,918 tons of wheat and 31,282 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Triton to load 6,000 tons of molasses, Ibn Bassam with 13,256 tons of lentils, and Dubai, with containers.
