KARACHI, July 29: The additional district and sessions judge, Central, Ghulam Qadir Leghari, sentenced on Monday three robbers to five years in jail.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs5,000 each on Kashif, Muhammed Kamran and Kamran Baig, who were found guilty of having committed robbery in the house of Muhammed Sadiq in 1998 in the limits of North Nazimabad police.

The judge also ordered that the defaulter on the payment of the fine would have to undergo an additional two-month term.

ACQUITTED: The additional district and sessions judge, South, Farooq Ali Channa, acquitted three men in a murder case.

Mohsin, Tahir and Naeem, prosecuted for murdering Muneer on August 3, 1995 in the Garden police limits, were exonerated from the charge for want of incriminating evidence.

BAIL REJECTED: The district and sessions judge, Malir, Imam Bux Soomro, rejected the bail application of an accused in a kidnapping for ransom case.

Malhar Khan and three others were booked for kidnapping Anver Baloch, owner of Hub Corporation, on Jan 13, 1996 in the limits of Gadap police.
