KARACHI: Transparency in uplift activities stressed

KARACHI, July 28: Sindh Chief Secretary, K.B. Rind, has asked all the heads of nation-building departments to ensure transparency in all development projects and other activities for the eradication of irregularities and misappropriation at all levels.

He issued these instructions here on Sunday, while perusing a suggestional report submitted to him by a delegation of youth, who called on him at the Chief Secretary House.

The delegates told the chief secretary that corruption has harmed the reputation of the government functionaries, and the nation would lose out if no concrete measures were adopted to eliminate corruption and misappropriation.

Rind reviewed the report under reference, and assured the delegates that he would not tolerate corruption, embezzlement, misappropriation or malpractice. Strict disciplinary action would be taken against all culprits, irrespective of their status, he added.

He made it clear that transparency would be maintained at all levels, specifically in procurement and tendering.—APP
