KARACHI, July 28: A man was killed by unknown persons in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Sunday.

The police said the body of an unknown victim in his early 40’s was recovered from a empty drum dumped at a densely populated neighbourhood in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Sunday.

The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination where the doctors said that the victim had died of strangulation. Later the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.

KILLED: Unknown persons opened fire on three brothers, killing one of them in Baldia Town in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The police said that four armed men barged into the house of three brothers- Gul Azam, Noor Nabi and Hazrat Nabi- in Abidabad Baldia Town. The suspects made the brothers stand against a wall, opened fire and fled. Gul Azam died on the spot and Noor Nabi was injured in the attack. The third brother Hazrat Nabi escaped unhurt and informed the police. The injured was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Police said that the three brothers were labourers at a mill in Site and belonged to Banu. The attack, the police said, might be a result of personal enmity.

ELECTROCUTED: A young woman died of electrocution in Orangi Town on late Saturday night.

The police said that Fareeda, aged 23, was boiling water on electric heater in her house in Sector 10-L, when she got electrocuted. The victim was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was pronounced dead by the medicolegal officer.
