KARACHI: Three cars, nine bikes taken away

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, July 28: At least 12 vehicles — three cars and nine motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen from different parts of the city on Sunday, police said.

Two cars were hijacked and one was stolen. Five motorcycles were taken away at gunpoint and four were stolen. The police claimed to have recovered two cars and four motorcycles from different parts of the city.

SUICIDE: A young housewife committed suicide in her house in Mochko on Sunday. The police said that housewife Ishrat, aged 24, hanged herself with a rope from the ceiling fan in her house in Mochko.

The victim reportedly hanged herself following an altercation with her husband Ramzan, a labourer, who was out of work. Her body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

In another incident, a fifty-year old man tried to set himself on fire after sprinkling kerosean oil on himself near Lea Market on Saturday night. He was shifted to hospital where he died during treatment.
