HYDERABAD, July 26: Around 100 PPP activists here on Friday filed their nomination papers for the district leadership of the party.

The party elections are to be held on July 29 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidature is July 28.

A large number of the PPP members and supporters were present at the party office in the District Council Shopping Centre.

Prominent among those who filed their nomination papers were former legislators, Abdul Sattar Bachani, Syed Mohsin Shah and Haji Mohammad Amin Lakho.

The in-charge, Election Committee, Naveed Qamar received the nomination papers.

Talking to newsmen, Shah said that the members of the Sindh Council would also be elected from each district.

He said that 3,000 voters of Hyderabad district, who represented the union councils, would elect the office-bearers and the district committee.
