HYDERABAD, July 26: Dadu police picked up Dr Niaz Kalani, the vice chairman of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), from the jail here on Friday as soon as he was released on bail in different criminal and sedition cases.
A police team, led by the DSP of Dadu, took his custody and whisked him away to face yet another sedition case.
The other accused in the case are the chairman, Basheer Khan Qureshi, and several other leaders of the Mahaz.
They have been accused of delivering anti-state speeches on Jan 17, 2001 at Makhdoom Bilawal on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Jeay Sindh leader, G.M. Syed.
Dr Kalani is facing a total of nine cases, three of them contain treason charges, registered against him at Makki Shah, Market, B-section Latifabad, Daro, Jhok Sharif, Chachar and Matiari police stations.
Our Dadu correspondent adds: Following his re-arrest on Friday, Dr Kalani has been taken to Dadu police station for interrogation.
Absconder: The Hyderabad Cantonment police on Friday submitted the final challan pertaining to the case of a deaf and dumb girl who was subjected to rape.
The charge sheet was submitted to the court of the Judicial Magistrate-I, Fida Hussain Mughal.
The absconding accused in the case, Umar Daraz, a driver, had also been arrested from his residence in Pathan Colony and sent to jail.
Three other accused, Saleem Bhatti, Noor Mohammad Jamali and Nangar Sheedi, have already been sent to jail.
