‘Fertilizer industry needs incentives’

ISLAMABAD, July 24: The fertilizer industry needs incentives and appropriate measures for enhancing its growth to meet the requirements of the agriculture sector.

This was stated by Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) managing director Lt-Gen Amjad Shuaib (retired) while speaking at a seminar organized by the FFC here on Wednesday.

Gen Shuaib said the new fertilizer policy could not fulfil national objectives and failed to attract new investment. During the last one year, not a single unit of fertilizer was set up to boost the production, he added.—APP
