LARKANA, July 23: Three persons died and seven were injured as a van overturned on Airport Road near Hatri on Tuesday.

The van, heading towards Larkana, went out of the control of its driver after its tyre burst.

It resulted into the on-the-spot death of three passengers identified as Bilqees, Samina Memon, 5, and Hazooran, 70.

The injured included Shahnawaz, Meeran Bakhsh Lashari, Ali Hassan Brohi, Irshad Khatoon, Farzana, wife of Mohammad Suleman Memon, Farzana, 3, and Liaquat Ali Jogi, the driver of the van.

They were immediately removed to the Chandka Medical College Hospital where doctors said they were improving.

KILLED: A driver, Ashique Ali Soomro, hired by Mastoi tribesmen, was killed allegedly by the rival Leghari tribesmen in village Ibrahim-ji-Wandh, in the jurisdiction of Sujawal police station on Monday.

Police said that the murder coincided with a land dispute between the two tribes and 14 people have been booked.

INTRUDERS: Armed intruders killed one, Noor Mohammed Arain, and injured his son, Jawed Ahmed, when they woke up and found robbers at their home on Monday.

Police said that the robbers started shooting as soon as they realized that they have been spotted by the inmates.

A case against the unknown outlaws has been registered.
