JKLF slams re-arrest of Yasin Malik

By Our Correspondent

NEW YORK, July 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), North American Chapter, on Saturday condemned the re-arrest of its chairman Mohammed Yasin Malik under Public Safety Act, saying the action was politically motivated.

In an appeal to the US State Department, the UN Human Rights Commission and the Amnesty International, the JKLF appealed to them “to use their good offices to save the life of Malik by prevailing upon the Government of India to release or at least shift him immediately to a medical facility in Delhi for renal scan as he has developed stones in both the kidneys and is passing blood with urine for quite some time,”

JKLF leader Raja Muzaffar said in the statement here “the grant of bail to Malik by the court in POTA case and his subsequent arrest under PSA exposes the hollowness of Indian government’s contention regarding his involvement in the one hundred thousand US dollars seizure case.”
