Balakot Tehsil budget okayed

MANSEHRA, July 20: The Balakot Tehsil council has unanimously approved it’s  annual budget for 2002-03.

In the budget session, presided over by Naib Nazim Munir Hussain Lughmani, council members, Raja Khalid Nawaz, Mohammad Naeem Khan, Fazalur Rehman and Mohammad Farooq, raised objections on the allocations and handing over of the copies of the budget to the members without signature.

The members objected to the allocation of Rs6.028 million for  non-development expenditure, Rs5.95 million for development schemes and Rs3.38 million for miscellaneous expenditure.

They alleged that the amount for the development schemes had been allocated on the advise of non-elected people and the members were not  taken into confidence. Munir Lughmani assured the house that the council would follow the policy of merit in carrying out the schemes.
