NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, July 20: The growers of Larik Minor took out a rally and held a demonstration opposite the DCO and district Nazim offices on Thursday in protest against the irrigation officials concerned for selling water to influential people.

The growers took out the protest rally in tractor trolleys, pickups, and motorcycles. They raised slogans against the irrigation officials concerned.

They complained that the irrigation officials were selling water to influential people and depriving them of their due share as a result of which their crops had gone dry.

Later, the acting district Nazim, Syed Hassan Ali Shah, assured the protesters that he and the DCO would talk to the executive engineer, irrigation, about it.

DEMO AGAINST HESCO: Several residents of the Abbas Kondhar village, Kandiaro Taluka, took out a procession against Hesco in Khan Wahan on Friday.

They said that their transformer went out of order a few days back and they informed Hesco officials about it. But, the latter demanded Rs10,000 for changing the transformer.

They demanded the superintendent engineer, Hesco, Nawabshah, and the XEN, Naushahro Feroze, to have the transformer changed immediately without taking any money from the villagers.

ROBBERY: Three motorcycles were snatched by unidentified armed persons in different places here on Saturday.

Three persons, wearing police uniform, robbed Irshad Ahmad Soomro of his motorcycle near Muhur.

Ghulam Sarwar Dahri was robbed of his motorcycle on Musargi Wah Link Road.

Some unidentified persons snatched motorcycle from Gul Hassan Wagan in Kalro village near Phul, Nausharo Feroze taluka.

INJURED: Four persons were injured in a dispute over money between two groups of Rind tribe in ward-8 here on Saturday.

The injured, including Ghulam Fareed, Ghulam Hussain and Fateh Mohammad, were admitted to the civil hospital.
