WWF scam: NAB recovers over Rs75m

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 17: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman, Lt-Gen Munir Hafiz presented a cheque of Rs30 million to the labour minister, Owais Ahmad Ghani, here on Wednesday.

An official announcement said this cheque was part of Rs75.9 million, which had been secured by NAB from the accused involved in siphoning Rs85 million from Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) in 1999.

The minister appreciated NAB’s effort in recovering the embezzled amount and thanked the chairman for his gesture of goodwill in foregoing NAB’s share from the recovered proceeds.
