Protest held against power suspension

By Our Correspondent

KALAYA, July 17: The residents of Orakzai Agency on Wednesday took out a protest procession and pelted stones at all government installations in the Upper Tehsil areas against the disconnection of power supply to their areas by Wapda.

The procession, which started at Khadizai, was joined on its way to Ghiljo by a large number of tribesmen.

It turned into a public meeting at Ghiljo, which was addressed by Maulana Abdul Karim and many other religious leaders of the area.

The enraged processionists pelted stones at all the buildings of government offices and schools, which were slightly damaged.

Later, the elders intervened and prevented the angry people from damaging the government buildings.
