Mengal seeks investment in Balochistan
QUETTA, July 17: Balochistan Governor Justice Amirul Mulk Mengal has said that there is a great scope of investment in the field of minerals, oil and gas and seafood in Balochistan.
He was talking to newly-appointed Consul-General of Japan, Mr Kangi Hanagata, who called on the Governor here on Wednesday.
He said the government had already offered incentives for local and foreign investors who wanted to invest in these sectors.
The governor said that Japan and Pakistan had very close and cordial relations and both the countries were cooperating with each other in various fields including trade and culture.
He informed the Japan’s Consul-General about the steps being taken by the provincial government for the speedy development of the province. He said significant improvement could be seen in education and health sectors due to bold steps taken by the government.
He said the Bolan Medical College Hospital had started functioning which was not only fulfilling the health requirements of the whole province but also extending health facilities to Afghan refugees living in Quetta and other parts of the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul-General of Japan said that his country had always given special importance to its relations with Pakistan. He held out an assurance that he would inform his government about the requirements of the province.
The Consul-General of Japan based in Quetta, Syed Nadeem Shah, and other officials of the Japanese Consulate were present on the occasion.
