KARACHI, July 16: Nine-teen vehicles — seven cars and 12 motorcycles — were taken away by the bandits in various localities in the city on Tuesday, the police sources said.

Three cars were hijacked and four others stolen in different areas by bandits.

Eight motorcycles were taken away at gunpoint and four others stolen from several places.

The police claimed to have recovered a stolen car (ACK-680) and four motorcycles- (KAR-8225, KAV-5001, KAF-7737, and RNB- 6329).

ROBBERIES: Four robberies were committed on Tuesday, a police spokesman said.

Four robbers stormed into Fakhr-i-Alam’s home in Gulberg, took the family hostage at gunpoint, collected cash, jewellery and valuables and fled with the loot.

Four brigands raided the house of Safdar Abbas in the Sharea Faisal police limits, held the occupants of the house hostage at gunpoint, amassed cash, jewellery and valuables and escaped.
