Phone link cut off

KARACHI, July 13: The telecommunication link of Karachi with the rest of the country was disconnected on Saturday night after a fault developed in the Digital Transit Exchange of the PTCL.

Karachi remained at the receiving end since 9.30pm as the outgoing calls to other cities were disturbed and the number beginning with ‘0’ did not work.

The outgoing and incoming calls on all mobile phones from and to PTCL land lines were also disturbed due to the fault.

An official of the PTCL said the fault had developed at around 9.30pm at Digital Transit Exchange in Pak Capital Telephone Exchange, near Old Sabzi Mandi. A PTCL spokesman said the fault was rectified at 1.25am.
