Carla eligible for CW Games

ISLAMABAD, July 12: Following reservations expressed by squash’s international governing body over Carla Khan’s participation in this month’s Commonwealth Games, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has informed them that she is in possession of a Pakistani passport.

The British-born Carla, ranked no 39 in the world, is to represent Pakistan at the July 25 to Aug 4 Games in Manchester but the WSF had doubts over her eligibility.

“We have written to the WSF, clearing all doubts they had about Carla being eligible to play for Pakistan or not,” a spokesman for the PSF told Dawn Friday.

Carla, the grand-daughter of squash legend Azam Khan, will also be playing for Pakistan in this year’s Asian Games in South Korea and then again in the SAF Games which Islamabad host next year.
