HYDERABAD, July 12: A large number of Pakistan People’s Party activists blocked the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Road, near Tando Jam, for quite some time on Friday to protest against the conviction of the party chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, by an accountability court.

The protesters were led by former MPA Mohammed Amin Lakho.

Earlier, the protesters held a demonstration before the Tando Jam Press Club and marched towards the Workshop Bus Stop where they staged a sit-in. They raised slogans against the conviction of Benazir Bhutto.

Addressing the rally, Amin Lakho, and others severely criticized the decision of the accountability court saying that a conspiracy had been hatched to prevent Benazir Bhutto from taking part in the general election.

They said that Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of the federation and national unity.
