KARACHI, July 9: A comprehensive framework will be formulated for poverty alleviation with reference to education, water and energy resources in the province, vice-chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Zafar Saeed Saify, said on Tuesday.

Talking to this news agency, he said a meeting in this connection has been convened at Karachi University on July 17 in collaboration with the Sindh government, which will be attended by vice-chancellors of all universities in the province.

He said Karachi University is also planning to build a model house at the campus where electricity would be generated from wind as well as from solar energy. The water would be recycled for growing vegetables and flowers in the lawn of the model house which will be 240 square yards in size.

The project to be completed in about two months would be a model for providing shelter to the poor people.—APP
