Irfan slams second century


KARACHI, July 8: Irfan Ali blasted his second successive century as Dawn walloped Khabrain by a massive 171 runs in the second NBP inter-media cricket tournament at the National Bank Complex Monday.

Irfan, who scored 110 in the first match, slammed an undefeated 151 off 77 balls that included four sixes and 19 boundaries.

Irfan’s fine batting display, that later earned him the Man-of-the-Match award, helped Dawn accumulate 255 for three in 25 overs.

Dawn later exhibited their bowling strength by dismissing Khabrain for 84 in 18.5 overs. The victory guarantees Dawn a place in the quarterfinals.

In the second match of the same pool. Ummat defeated Qaumi Akhbar by 90 runs.
