Ministry seeks information about Ghana nationals

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 7: The interior ministry has directed the provincial governments to collect data about nationals of Ghana studying in Pakistan and inform the ministry about them, an official source said on Sunday.

The directions were issued by the ministry after the embassy of Ghana in Riyadh asked its consulate in Pakistan to gather particulars of Ghanaian students and teachers in Pakistan and inform the embassy, the source said.

Separate lists of students will comprise names, addresses, duration of their stay in Pakistan and also the names of their institutions, he said. Earlier on Saturday, a high-level meeting was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs during which the registration of Madaris was discussed. The interior minister also attended the meeting and appraised the participants about the reason behind the registration of Madaris, teachers and students.
