Bid to occupy state land thwarted


LAHORE, July 7: The Sargodha district administration has issued the following press note:

“Today on July 7, some members of a religious group started construction of a mosque illegally on a government land measuring 14 kanal worth Rs30 million in New Satellite Town, Sargodha, which was opposed by another sect and the citizens. The local administration along with police rushed the spot and the situation was brought under control. Later, district Nazim Amjad Ali Noon and tehsil Nazim Tasneem Ahmad reached the spot and held talks with both the parties and urged them to remain peaceful.

The state land was got vacated after taking necessary legal action against unscrupulous elements with the help of citizens. Furthermore, legal action is being taken against the qabza group. However, the situation is under control.”
