Girl shot dead by her brother

By Our Correspondent

MARDAN, July 7: A teenage student of class 10 was shot dead by her brother on suspicion in the midnight of Thursday while she was asleep.

Nasra was a student of Shahdand Baba Girls High School, Par Hoti, Mardan.

The incident took place at Sawaldher, a suburb of Mardan, and the accused was identified as Tasleem, a homeopath by profession working in Peshawar.

Local residents told this scribe that Nasra was innocent. They condemned the act and said the accused was allegedly deceived by his uncle, a taxi driver, and his son who conspired against Nasra.

Father of the victim, Yousuf Khan, has lodged an FIR against his son Tasleem at the Katlang police station. The accused is still at large.

The villagers have condemned the murder and have urged both Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and Aurat Foundation to take notice of the brutal incident.
