Zone-II Whites win U-19 title

KARACHI, July 6:Zone-II Whites annexed the KCCA Inter Zonal Under-19 cricket championship after defeating Zone-I Whites by five runs in a thrilling final at KCCA Stadium Friday.

Leg spinner Amanullah captured four wickets for 58 to bowl his team to an exciting victory and captured the man of the match of award.

Electing to bat first, Zone-II Whites were bowled out for 173 in 49.3 overs with Syed Raheel hitting an unbeaten 43 not out. Left arm spinner Mujtaba Amin got 3 wickets for 45 runs. Off-break bowler M. Shoaib chipped in with 3 for 32.

In reply Zone-I Whites were spun out for 168 in 48.4 overs with Amanullah grabbing four wickets. Muhammad Muzammil finished unbeaten on 42 and Kamran Ahmed made 42 while M. Shoaib contributed 36.

Riazuddin and Saleem Badar supervised the match, while Muhammad Ahsan was official scorer.

Khurram Manzoor (best batsman), Shoaib Lodhi (Best bowler) were given special awards. They were given cricket bats.

Thirty-one men-of-the-match players received cricket shirts.
