Funds demanded for Balochistan

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, July 2: A central leader of the PML-Q (woman wing), Robina Irfan, has demanded that Balochistan should be given funds according to its area and requirement to bring it at par with other provinces of the country.

She, speaking at a seminar on ‘Balochistan: Future’s Hong Kong’ here on Tuesday, said the province could play a key role in the future uplift of Pakistan.

Balochistan, she explained, had a great potential in various fields, but it was badly ignored in the past by depriving it of its due rights.

This province was full of mineral wealth, which was not so far explored and exploited by any government.

“ Balochistan’s resources are being used by different rulers, but step has not been taken to resolve its problems which are increasing with the passage of time,” Robina observed and added that the people of this backward province were even not getting clean drinking water.

She urged the government to explore and exploit the mineral resources of Balochistan and provide incentives and facilities to investors so that they could develop the mineral sector of the province.
