ISLAMABAD, July 1: The government is considering a proposal to simplify the application forms for citizenship and naturalization to “bring them in conformity with the requirements of modern age”, according to reliable sources.

The application form is meant for the foreign spouses of Pakistani men and women who apply for Pakistani nationality. It is also meant for those children of such couples who are born abroad.

The sources said the form was designed long ago and its complex format created problems for applicants. Officials of the interior ministry are drafting a new application form which is expected to be placed before the cabinet for final approval some time this month, they added.
