KARACHI, June 26: Four ships including a rice loader to load 10,500 tons of the commodity are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berth occupancy at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to steady arrivals, rising to 100 per cent at the oil piers and 58 per cent on the dry wharves.
For the second day in a row berthing activity at the wharves was maintained at a brisk pace where all the new arrivals were berthed. The ships, which were berthed are: Bunga Mastiga, Sinar Bangka and APL Jeddah, to unload and load containers, Johnny, Commander Express to unload and load general cargo, Amman-2 to load rice, Stolt Loyality, to unload chemicals and Berg Ragnhild, to load naptha.
Four ships, Kota Wirawan, Nord Lake, Bunga Mastiga and Hebet Friendship sailed out, while HSH Ubin, Johnny, APL Jeddah, and Al-Mirqab are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves rose to 0.104m tons, comprising 24,220 tons of export cargo and 80,084 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Thursday: MSC Lucy, Saf Marine Athi, with containers, L.M.Z. Evina, with crude oil and Emirate of Dubai, to load rice.
KARACHI, June 26: A ship MSC Serena scheduled to load/unload containers was allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.
Three ships, Al-Waaliyu, An An and Msc Serena, besides Silver Sea which is currently under arrest, were busy in loading/discharging wheat and containers.
Serena was expected to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity remained slow as a total cargo volume of 6,636 tons of wheat for export, in addition to 1,166 containers (Tues), was handled.
Axion with 48,301 tons of general cargo was currently at the outer anchorage.
Four vessels, Saudi Abha, New Toyokaze, Ievoli Shine and Stilt Sakara were due to arrive.
