LAHORE, June 25: If all goes well, four-year-old bay filly, Diva, can make amends during the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse Wednesday.
The filly is the progeny of Lisboa out-of-Leading Performance and is contesting in the fourth race to be run over the sprinting distance of 800 metres.
Diva has won a good race and placed twice in her previous outings. But she has so far not performed as expected of such a highly bred filly like her.
Among her rivals, Diva may face a challenge from blue-roan gelding Subzero and the dark-bay Time To Lead.
In the feature event, four contenders, namely, Little Master, Flying Fin, Lucky Lass and Imagine If are the chance animals in a field of 13, if there are no last-minute withdrawals. The winner should be from them, if form and handicap are any yardstick to assess and judge capabilities of the animals.
A card of six events will be down for the decision in the afternoon. All races will be contested over 800 metres. The first race will start at 2.30 pm.
