NEW DELHI, June 24: New Delhi said on Monday it was awaiting an official response from Islamabad to its decision to lift a ban on overflights of its territory by Pakistani airliners.
“I don’t believe there has been any official communication,” foreign ministry spokesperson Nirupama Rao said at a briefing for newsmen.
“Our offer stands. We are yet to see any response from Pakistan,” she added.
Asked at a press briefing in Islamabad if Pakistan was considering restarting flights over India, foreign ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said: “Yes, we are examining. All these things are under examination, yes.”
