FDPT online tracking system

FAISALABAD, June 24: Faisalabad Dry Port Trust (FDPT) will introduce online tracking system for 24-hour monitoring of its bonded luggage carriers, from Faisalabad to Karachi Port.

This was decided at an FDPT meeting held here on Monday with chairman Mushtaq Ali Cheema in the chair.

Underlining the importance of online tracking system, he said it would help ensure safe and on-time movement of luggage carriers dispatched from Faisalabad for various international destinations via Karachi Port.

He said that the system would also help exporters monitor and locate their consignments en-route to Karachi.

Four checkposts, each at a distance of approximately 12 hours, would be set up at Matiala, Rahim Yar Khan, Moro and Nooriabad.

These checkposts will be linked with FDPT from where, in addition to FDPT and custom officials, exporters will also be able to monitor the movement of their consignments, said Cheema.

The meeting also discussed in detail measures to attract imports and facilitate exporters. —APP
