KARACHI, June 23: Residents of Seaview Apartments complained on Sunday that they were being supplied contaminated water by the Defence Housing Authority.

They said all 24 blocks, near Khayaban-i-Rahat, each having nine flats, had received foul smelling water.

“It appears that somewhere the sewerage line has joined the water supply line, and we have no doubts about the cause of the supply of the contaminated water,” said a resident.

Another resident, however, said the DHA had informed them about the “erroneous” contaminated supply and they supplied them water by tankers.

“But the supply through tankers was not adequate,” said the resident. “Besides, there is a lot of hassle as people have to clean their underground and overhead tanks to be able to receive clean water supply.”
