By Our Reporter

KARACHI, June 22: Sixteen vehicles — six cars and 10 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Saturday, police sources said.

Two cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen in Gulshan, Saddar and Jamshed Towns.

Four motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen in Kharadar, New Karachi, Gulberg, and Korangi Towns.

The police also claimed on Saturday to have recovered one car and two motorcycles in the city.

BODY FOUND: A man, believed to be an informer of the police, was found murdered in a vacant plot in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Saturday.

The police said that the body was lying in an open plot near Javed Hill View Apartments. The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy where doctors said the victim suffered two bullet wounds to his head. He was identified as Aftab alias Kashif, aged 30.

The police suspected the dead man, resident of Orangi Town, to be an informer of the police’s investigation wing, and said he might have been kidnapped, shot dead and the body was dumped in an isolated place.
