PESHAWAR, June 22: All Tribal Students Federation on Saturday threatened to observe hunger strike in front of the Governor’s House if the provincial government fails to issue notification for admission of students from Federally Administered Tribal Areas to Khyber Medical College by June 25.

In a press release, the federation’s president, Ijaz Khan, asked the government to issue the notification immediately and said otherwise the affected students would observe a hunger strike to press their demand.

Students from the eight tribal agencies and frontier regions had decided to set up a hunger strike camp at the Governor’s House, the release said and added that the affected candidates’ parents would take part in the strike. Ijaz said that despite Supreme Court’s judgment, the KMC administration had yet to give admission to the tribal students.
