ISLAMABAD, June 20: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has prepared its Annual Works Programme (AWP) of Rs2.874 billion for the year 2002-03.

According to the authority’s annual estimates, its total budget would be around Rs4.798 billion, which is likely to be announced in the last week of the current month. Out of this total allocation, Rs2.874 billion would be spent on development side while Rs1.924 billion on non-development expenditures.

However, out of the total AWP allocation, Rs1.153 billion would be spent under capital grant (the grant given by the government) and Rs1.720 billion would be allocated for the uplift plans to be completed under self-finance schemes.

CAPITAL GRANT: Under the capital grant, Rs300 million has been allocated for dualisation of IJ Principal Road, Rs97.757 million for dualisation of Islamabad Highway from Gumrah Bridge to Rawat, Rs64.335 million would be spent on laying of water supply lines from Shah Allah Ditta Reservoir, Rs20 million would be utilised for the improvement of three existing phases of sewage treatment plant and construction of its fourth phase, Rs102 million has been earmarked for the construction and furnishing of parliament lodges, Rs0.5 million would be spent on construction of offices and residential accommodation for AGPR, Rs22.864 million for the safty of Simly Dam, Rs6.318 million will be spent on installation of security equipments at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Rs2.982 million for additional exhaust fans in government quarters at G-9/2, Rs15.617 million for laying of additional 36 inches dia water supply pipeline at Simly Dam, Rs5 million for the construction of a helipad for cabinet division, Rs2 million for the construction of some part of PM secretariat, Rs0.557 million to carry out some construction work at Faizabad interchange, Rs51 million would be given as payment of principal amount and interest on loan acquired for Khanpur Water Supply project, Rs150 million have been allocated for payment of principal amount for laying of 3rd conduction from Simly Dam, Rs13 million has been earmarked for capital hospital, Rs20.430 million would be spent on bulk water supply, Rs5.149 million would be utilised for re-development of sector G-6, Rs120 million for sector F-6, Rs12.457 million for other works in sector G-6, Rs15.598 million for sector G-7, Rs57.023 million for roads, Rs1.900 million for miscellaneous works and Rs50 million for unforeseen/emergency works.

SELF FINANCE PROJECTS: Rs1.720 billion would be spent on the projects to be executed under self-finance schemes. As Rs236.000 million would be spent on the development of sector I-16, Rs310 million has been allocated for the development of sector D-12, Rs5.561 million would be spent on sector E-7, Rs26.935 million on sector F-7, Rs16.500 million on sector F-8, Rs11.739 million has been earmarked for F-9 Park, Rs17.888 million would be spent on sector F-10, Rs74.054 million would be spent on sector F-11, Rs15.670 would be utilised on sector G-8, Rs30.476 million would be spent on sector G-9, Rs40.422 have been allocated for sector G-10, Rs93.175 million would be spent on sector G-11, Rs19.900 million for sector H-8, for sector H-9 Rs 16.840 million has been earmarked, Rs18.930 million has been allocated for sector H-11, Rs65.406 million would be spent on sector I-8, Rs42.743 million on sector I-9, Rs26.621 million on sector I-10, Rs39.7 million has been allocated for sector I-11, Rs89.000 million for sector I-14, Rs18.521 million would be spent on Jinnah Avenue, Rs16.420 million on Diplomatic Enclave, Rs81.831 million on model villages, Rs28.111 million on National Park Area, Rs1.265 million has been earmarked for commercial area along IJP Road, Rs125.707 million for miscellaneous works, Rs1.500 million for food street, Rs50 million has been allocated for emergent/urgent works, Rs 210 million would be given as pension to former employees and Rs300 million would be spent on land acquisition.
