LARKANA, June 20: The Sindh government has released an amount of Rs20 million under the upgradation project of the department of Urology at the Chandka Medical College Hospital.

Disclosing this, the medical superintendent of Chandka Medical College Hospital, Hussain Bakhsh Memon, said on Thursday that four old dialysis machines had gone out of order but under the new plan seven new ones would be arriving by the end of June.

He said the original plan permitted purchasing only four dialysis machines but we made it possible through negotiations to have seven machines at the same amount by getting discount from the companies.

He said that each dialysis machine costs around Rs4.5 lacs, adding that presently three machines were fully operational and with the addition of seven more kidney patients would benefit a lot.

He said not only this but two new leproscope machines each costing around Rs12 lacs would be added to the Surgery department after its recognition for carrying out FCPS Part-II courses and all the two units of surgery were being made centrally air-conditioned along with the department of Cardiology.
