Lawyer shot dead

FAISALABAD, June 18: A lawyer was shot dead by some unidentified assailants on the Faisalabad-Satiana Road here on Tuesday.

Mumtaz Yousaf was on his way to the district courts by a motorcycle when some armed men riding a car opened fire on him near Saleemi Chowk. The advocate sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Allied Hospital where he died.

Mumtaz Yousaf was a resident of Chak 109-GB and had an old enmity in the area.

SUICIDE: Two jobless youths committed suicide by taking poison in separate incidents here on Tuesday.

Shamim Anjum of Samanabad had been jobless for the last so many years. On Tuesday, he took poison and died while being taken to hospital.

Abbas of Chak 409-GB took poisonous liquor after an altercation with his family. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
