QUETTA, June 18: The Anti-Narcotics Force seized 100kg of hashish and arrested six alleged drug smugglers, including four women, here on Monday evening.

On a tip-off, an ANF team intercepted a Karachi-bound coach (JA-9626) soon after its departure from Quetta on Sariab Road.

The team searched the coach and seized 100 packets each containing one kilogramme of hashish.

Driver Musa Jan, conductor Abdul Malik and four women, identified as Hanifa, Nasreen, Shamshad and Azra Bibi, who were travelling in the coach, were arrested. The owner of the vehicle, Mohammad Afzal, fled the scene. A case was registered against the drug traffickers, who have been under interrogation since their arrest.

Meanwhile, the Pishin Scouts, a wing of the Frontier Corps, swooped on a house in the Gulistan area and seized 80kg of hashish. The drug smugglers escaped from the area.
