LAHORE, June 17: A two-day training workshop for women, aimed at bringing home to them their societal rights and privileges, will commence under the aegis of the Working Women Organization (WWO) here on Tuesday.
The programme to be participated in mostly by working women would help acquaint them of the ill-effects of gender discrimination and the way as to how the prevalent negative thinking with regard to women in society could be brought to an end, WWO activist Ms Aima Mahmood said.
Among those expected to deliver lectures on various subjects would include social welfare department’s Ms Naureen Naqvi, improvement of working conditions centre director Saeed Awan and All-Pakistan Trade Unions Federation general secretary Gulzar Chaudhry.
According to Ms Mahmood, the WWO had taken upon itself to educate women about their universal rights guaranteed to them by the state and Islam and the means to get them secured.
