LAHORE, June 16: Fancied bay colt Gold Bird won the fourth event in style during the Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse Sunday.
The even-money favourite Gold Bird drifted towards the outer tan in the straight and then rallied fast home during the last 100 metres to make up the lost ground and win by half a length beating class front-runner chestnut gelding Lake District.
The most outstanding performance of the day came from bay gelding Think Thank in the feature event. Carrying an heavy impost of nine stone and 12 pounds Think Thank stormed home to flash past Half Love and defeat this bay horse by a length’s margin.
