KARACHI, June 13: Six ships carrying coal, crude oil and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berth occupancy at the wharves was active owing to steady arrivals and berthing, rising to 67 per cent on the oil piers and 45 per cent on the dry berths.

Five ships, Dubai, Saf Marine Wami and Oriental Bright to unload and load containers, Johar and Mina to offload crude oil and chemicals respectively were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The ships, which departed included Budia Man, APL Cairo, Eastern Bright, Lecong and Nur Yanbu, while Mina, Saf Marine Wami, Trade Eternity, Clipper, Johar and Jamila are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves rose to 77,407 tons comprising 14,068 tons of export cargo and 63,339 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Keiko, with 82,195 tons of crude oil, Kota Pusaka, MSC Teresa, Emirate Star-11 and Wan Hai-303, with containers and Tahir Kiran, with 36,031 tons of coal.

KARACHI, June 13: Two tankers Indradi and Gulf Tiger carrying edible oil and furnace oil were accommodated berths at Multipurpose Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, according to PQ daily shipping activity report on Thursday. Eight vessels, Global Discovery, Sea Wind, Silver Sea, Indradi, Spear-I, Pretty Ruby, Gulf Tiger and World Rule were at the berths loading and discharging wheat and edible oil, general cargo, furnace oil and iron ore respectively.

Cargo handling activity remained brisk and cargo volume rose to 58,896 tons comprising 2,630 tons of export cargo and 56,266 tons of import cargo.

Three ships, Ermis, Jin Bi, Chemstar Venus were at the outer anchorage. Jin Bi and Contship Champion were expected to take berths at Multipurpose Terminal and QICT on Thursday.

Silver-N, Pretty Ruby and Spear-I sailed on Wednesday while Gulf Tiger was due to depart.—APP
