HYDERABAD, June 12: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has directed the officials concerned to immediately start “O” level classes in the Hyderabad Public School.

Presiding over the 107th meeting of the Board of Governors of the school of which he is the chairman, Mr Rafiquzzaman expressed his determination to raise the standard of the school to the level of the Aitchenson and the Burn Hall.

He said not only the academic level but extra curricular activities also needed to be improved. He emphasized the need for reopening the swimming pool and starting Tent Pegging Sports in the school.

He said the Board of Governors should be reconstituted in the light of the new set up to give more representation to women.

He also constituted a two-member committee, comprising Col Khalid and Habibdullah Siddiqui, to draft plan for starting “O” level classes besides the teaching of information technology and business administration after summer vacations.
