Exports to Poland rise

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 10: Pakistan’s exports to Poland during the last two years have increased by 30 per cent besides exceeding the export target for this year by a wide margin.

This was revealed by Embassy of Pakistan in Poland in a letter to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) a few days back.

Exports from Pakistan in 2001 stood at $25.3 million as compared to $21.4 million in 2000 and $18 million in 1999 while imports from Poland were $9.7 million in 2001, $22 million in 2000 and $15.7 million in 1999.

An EPB official said that exports of rice, cotton made-ups, clothes and sports goods had maintained the growth pattern. He said Poland in future will be of further interest of Pakistani exporters when it will join the EU.
