Mill workers want reinstatement

NAWABSHAH, June 9: The sacked workers of the Al-Noor Sugar Mills, Shahpur Jehanian, staged a protest demonstration opposite the mill and observed a token hunger strike on Sunday to press for their reinstatement.

More than 80 workers were expelled by the mill a few days back.

The workers, led by Sindh Labour Party chairman Dost Mohammad Channa, Anwar Panhwar, Munir Arain, Ghulam Sarwar Dahri and Mohammad Bukhsh Solangi, were chanting slogans against the management of the mill.

They pledged to continue their struggle till their reinstatement.

WOMAN KIDNAPPED: A woman was kidnapped by seven men from the Nusrat Deh near Bucheri on Saturday.

Shahbaz Shah, Lal Shah, Rahim Shah, Noor Shah, Shaman Shah, Hyder Shah and Gulan Shah kidnapped Naseem Bibi, 28, wife of Syed Munir Shah, at gunpoint.

Syed Tahir Shah, the brother of the woman, has lodged an FIR with the Daur police.

SUICIDE: A 16-year-old boy, Sunny, committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan in Linepar area here on Saturday.

The cause of the incident is said to be some family problem.

An FIR of the suicide case has been lodged with the B-section police.
